Why This Recipe Works
The beauty of this turtle ice cream pie lies in its perfectly layered combination of complementary flavors and textures. The chocolate cookie crust provides a sturdy, sweet foundation, while the pralines and cream ice cream offers vanilla richness with caramel swirls. Hot fudge sauce creates a decadent chocolate layer, caramel sauce adds gooey sweetness, and toasted pecans contribute essential crunch. The no-bake method makes it accessible to any home cook.
Ingredients
Only five simple ingredients needed to make this tasty turtle pie:
- Baskin Robbins Pralines and Cream ice cream – Provides the creamy vanilla base with caramel ribbons that perfectly complement the turtle flavor profile
- Caramel sauce – Adds essential gooey sweetness and authentic turtle candy flavor that ties all elements together
- Hot fudge sauce – Creates a rich chocolate layer that mimics the chocolate coating found on turtle candies
- Pecans – Contribute the signature crunch and nutty flavor that defines turtle desserts and candies
- Chocolate pie crust – Forms the sturdy, sweet foundation that complements all the layered flavors above

Seriously, man, I am in love with your blog. This was a delicious ice cream pie. Thank you!
I know this is a comment years late, but you might want to check out the copy in your instruction section for this recipe.
“Line the bottom of the crust with the hot fudge sauce” should not be the last instruction….
The hot fudge sauce is on the top and the bottom.
My daughter’s number one request for her birthday is Baskin Robbins turtle pie, but I got tired of paying their high prices. So I tried this recipe, and my daughter likes it even better! I toasted the pecans in butter and put a single layer of pecans on the hot fudge layer before adding the ice cream, then followed the rest of the recipe. Easy, delicious, and much cheaper!
OK, but tell me about the hot fudge. I want to know how to make B-R hot fudge. I must have that recipe!!!
I will keep your suggestion in mind!
