For the Milk Component:

For the Topping:
- Whipped cream – Adds luxurious richness and visual appeal to the finished drink
- Chopped pecans – Provide a crunchy texture and nutty flavor that complements the maple
Step-by-Step Instructions for the Copycat Maple Pecan Latte Recipe
Preparing the Coffee Base
- Brew the espresso: Using an espresso machine, pull a double shot of espresso directly into your serving mug. If using regular coffee, brew one cup of strong coffee using your preferred method.
- Add sweetness: While the espresso is still hot, stir in maple syrup until completely dissolved. The heat helps the syrup integrate smoothly without creating sticky pockets.
Creating the Milk Component
- Steam the milk: Using your milk frother or steam wand, heat milk to 150-160°F while creating light, creamy foam. If using alternative methods, heat the milk in a saucepan and froth it with a whisk or a French press.
- Combine carefully: Pour the steamed milk into the mug with the espresso and maple mixture, holding back the foam with a spoon initially, then spooning the foam on top.
Final Assembly
- Add the crown: Top the latte with a generous dollop of whipped cream, creating an attractive peak.
- Finish with texture: Sprinkle chopped pecans over the whipped cream, providing the signature crunch and visual appeal.
- Serve immediately: Enjoy while hot for the best flavor and texture experience.
Storage & Reheating Instructions
- Immediate Consumption: Best enjoyed immediately while hot for optimal flavor and texture
- Leftover Storage: Refrigerate base mixture without toppings for up to 2 days in airtight containers
- Reheating Method: Gently warm in microwave or saucepan, then add fresh whipped cream and pecans
- Make-Ahead Tips: Prepare maple syrup mixture in advance and store in the refrigerator for quick assembly
Cost-Saving Benefits
Making this latte at home costs approximately one-third the price of purchasing from a coffee shop, while allowing complete control over ingredient quality and quantities. Buying pecans and maple syrup in bulk further reduces per-serving costs.

Thank goodness there is a copycat for this recipe, I want to have it all year long.
Just made this and it’s sooooo good! I made mine with vanilla soy milk though because I’m lactose intolerant, and to steam/froth the milk I microwaved it for a minute then put the milk in my Ninja blender for 15-20 seconds. It’s perfect and foamy! Thank you for this great recipe! I’m definitely going to make this many more times in the future.
So glad you enjoyed it!
I love to make fancy coffee drinks when I watch movies at home. Yum Yum Yum.
I never thought about cooking tater tots like that… I’ll try it today!!
Look so yummy! cant wait to make this tonight!
How do you steam the milk
I don’t have a gadget that can steam the milk. How can I do it? I can’t afford that, so is there another way to do it without braking the bank for just a specific tool with only one purpose??
You can steam the milk by heating it up in a microwave until it is warmer. If you want to froth it up, place it in an old used glass jar with a lid and shake it up.
